Detailed Information about all Fresher’s Week Events

Prayer Breakfast: Every week day this week, we will be gathering for a prayer and worship meeting from 8-9am in the SU room 2.2. We will be praying into all that God has planned for fresher’s week. Breakfast will be provided and everyone is welcome 🙂

City and coffee shop tour: Monday, 13:00-16:00, Meeting point Outside Whitworth art gallery in Whitworth park.
The city and coffee shop tour will give new students a quick overview of the city. In particular, it will explore the area from Whitworth park, through the university campus and into the city centre. There will be a chance to stop and grab a coffee at one of the many coffee shops if that’s your thing!

International Desserts: On Monday night from 7:30pm we will gather at the SU in the Hive for our international social. We will enjoy some yummy desserts together (specifically brownies and ice cream, we will also have allergen safe options) and get to know each other with some fun games. No need to sign up or bring anything, just come along!

Worship in the street: On Tuesday from 11:00 am – 13:00 pm we will gather on the UoM Campus, outside the Ali G to join together in worshipping the Lord where passers-by will be able to see our passion and love for our God. If you would like to join in the worship, sign up here or on any of our socials, otherwise we’ll see you there and you’re more than welcome to join in on the day!

Grub Crawl: Tuesday 17th September starting at 5 pm.
Hello everyone, we’d love you to join our grub crawl. You are invited to come to 3 CU members’ houses and share in a three-course meal (one course at each house). It’s a great opportunity to build friendships as we share food and fellowship together. Anyone is welcome! The route you will take will depend on where your halls of residence is:
Fallowfield: Meet outside The Great Central Wetherspoons
City: Meet outside Oxford Road Tim Hortons.
Victoria Park: Meet outside Oxford Road Lidl
Sign up necessary no need to bring anything other than yourself 🙂

Film night: On Wednesday, September 18th, from 18:30, we will host a Film Night in the Nest (SU Building). Come have a chill time and meet freshers and members as we watch a film to end the day. There is no need to sign up; it is open to all!

Refresh: Refresh is a time when people from the CU give out free drinks and snacks in Fallowfield campus to people on their way in or out from a night out!! It is such a good way of sharing God’s love on campus when people are least expecting it.

Code Breaking: Join us 11-1pm on Thursday 26th September near the Ali G Building for an exciting challenge! We will be testing the public in their codebreaking ability with a puzzle giveaway. Who will be the first to crack the complex code to win a suitcase filled with prizes ranging from wireless headphones to gift cards. Volunteer (sign up here to help!) or invite your friends to crack the code as we ask the questions surrounding the answer to the puzzle of life and share what the CU do!

Where’s Wally?: Thursday, 14:00-16:00, Meeting point Outside Whitworth art gallery in Whitworth park.
A light-hearted competition between Impact groups, involving solving puzzles and finding Wally around the university campus. This event is a great opportunity to meet the leaders and members of the Impact groups, as well as getting your bearings of the different university buildings..

Pub Quiz: Thursday 19th September, entry from 19:30 and quiz beginning at 20:00  It’s upstairs at the Turing Tap on Oxford road. It’ll be £1 per person to play and the winning group takes it all!!:zany_face: We would love to see you there! Whether it’s your first, third or thirty fifth CU event :yum: No sign up necessary!
